Home Crush: Lily Aldridge Nashville Tudor

This Tudor Revival Nashville home owned by Lily Aldridge and Caleb Followill oozes coziness, personality and charm. I remember the first time I saw this photo of the kitchen I stopped dead in my tracks. I have always loved penny hex tile, but seeing it in this adorable pattern for a backsplash and vent hood cover was something so different and yet so classic. I absolutely love this tour and interview that Architectural Digest covered and I urge you to go to their website and watch the video tour as well.

english cottage meets moroccan vibe

I love this feeling of eclecticism that the design firm Pierce and Ward created from the couples inspiration. The home has this feeling that is not only deeply charming and cozy, it’s also so personal to the people that live there. Isn’t that the goal? To bring together a whole bunch of things and items and stuff and make it feel so personal and welcoming?

What stands out-

Everything is so layered and interesting, and yet the bones and base materials allow everything else to shine. I love that the white walls allow colors to pop and stand out. I feel the English Countryside vibe with the layers of pattern and fabrics, big cozy furniture, and vintage and traditional finds that are displayed. The Moroccan vibe comes through with the lighting, Persian rugs, rattan accents, and textiles.

The home feels collected and yet not overly cluttered. An abundance of materials are displayed on surfaces could easily looked cluttered or chaotic, organizing and displaying them as collections helps group them and give the purpose. It is important to note the use of color and pattern. Some rooms have calmer color palettes while other rooms incorporate dynamic combinations of color, which gives the home a feeling of balance. Everything plays well together, but it also lets certain rooms shine and nothing feels like one-note.

This bathtub in the master bathroom looks like the ultimate spot to relax. I love how some art is leaned, books are stacked, and toiletries are displayed. The rug, side table, and light fixture give way to the Moroccan feel and the flowers and clawfoot bathtub with polished fixtures feel cozy European. I imagine the light fixture casts the prettiest shadows around the room when it is lit at night. The bead board and hardwood sets the whole stage and gives a classic and calm base.
