Studio McGee for Target Threshold is a dream

Studio McGee is launching a line exclusively with Target Threshold and it is everything my dreams are made of. I fell in love with the talent of Shea McGee so, so many years ago (5 or 6?) and I have been following her journey ever since. It is so exciting to see this super talented gal and her team launch a line with Target! It feels like seeing a friend reach a huge milestone. I am here to share her goodies because man, what an accomplishment!

If you aren’t familiar with Studio McGee, I’ve shared a few images from their Beckham Project below. Shea and her team have created this amazing ability to have an elevated look that feels cozy, collected and layered without being cluttered or overly trendy. She is a master at mixing patterns, furnishing and completing rooms with appropriate design and scale and I love, love her ability to add texture in interesting ways. She has an elevated casual style that ranges from traditional and modern. I love how everything feels purposeful, but not overly precious.

Let’s break down the different parts of the line at Target and go through some of the items that stood out to me, but to be completely honest, every single piece is absolute gold. While I didn’t want to copy and paste the whole website, make sure to head on over to Target and check her stuff out.

TEXTILES

The pillows and throws in this line are GOOD. One thing I love extra about this line is that the pillow covers are removable. Honestly, I almost never buy a pillow if the cover isn’t removable. It also means you can remove the pillow cover and put it on any down or down alternative insert that may be a little more fluffy and sturdy. The blankets and throws have great texture and are a great size.

When mixing and matching pillows it’s good to think of variety and pattern scales.  I love the color palette of this blue and green combo that’s happening below and I’m particularly in love with the floral and large check pillow combo. I like to think of pillow matching like this:

The decor pieces as part of this line are SO good. They allow so many options for the pieces to be mixed and matched together. I love these items for on top of a coffee table, entry table, bookshelves or really layered anywhere. I love how these vases can be beautiful on their own or can be used to hold beautiful greens and blooms. One thing to note about these items are their sizes. You can get things at a variety of scales and sizes which really helps create a more dramatic and balanced look. Look at the size of those wood beads! They are so gorgeous and definitely on my wishlist.

If you are looking for a fun combination, the candle, a vase and a shelf topper is a great way to start some fun and get a varied look. I actually had purchased a black vase from McGee & Co (Studio McGees online shop) and it has been one of my favorite items in our home. Blooms just pop in this simple vase. The black vase below is such a great look for a cheaper price point.

This Ceramic Textured Decorative Bowl truly exceeds my expectations. To get an idea of scale you can see it in the photo above. It is large and it is perfect for a kitchen counter, open shelf, or really just anywhere. The details of this bowl look extremely high end and it looks hand crafted.

ART

I love, love the variety of art available with this collection. There are abstract pieces available, as well as photos and some painting style pieces. Frames are also available and you can find pieces at a variety of price points. I am SO smitten with the cutie gold frame and I hope to be able to snag this beauty. This whole art collection is available at a range of sizes and price points. The cutie gold frame is only $15 and it is 11x14 which is a great mid size for layering. The white photo of the field is actually a large scale print that is perfect for over a fireplace.

FAUX GREENERY & BLOOMS

Wow, this is a really great artificial and faux greenery line. The clementine wreath is layered and interesting and has a great spring and summertime look. Those pots are also availlble in the line and they are a heavy/study terra-cotta. Again, I love that items are available at a variety of price points and sizes. You can snag a super large and beautiful rubber tree or go for a cutie small fern leaf plant for $15.

BIGGER TICKET ITEMS

One thing that excites me most is furniture and larger scale pieces that are available. That black credenza above is truly gorgeous and I love the caning drawer front. The rugs are great and timeless and can go in a variety of spaces. I love how each piece looks thoughtful and unique. I am eyeing the rugs, stools or ottomans. The stools or ottoman poofs can easily be moved, but also add extra seating or foot support when guests come.

WHAT I’M BUYING & VIBING

I tried to prioritize only what struck my heart most and what was unique and unlike anything I had. I am absolutely smitten with everything, so it truly has been hard for me to reign in my excitement. You can do no wrong with anything from this line.
